McLaren Trophy Europe Round 1

Highs, lows, and debut podium at Brands Hatch.

Round 1 of the McLaren Trophy Europe Championship kicked off at Brands Hatch at the beginning of May.

Co-driver Josh qualified 3rd for Race 1, placing the team right in the thick of a highly competitive grid. After a strong start, they held position throughout the race, with Sam clocking the fastest lap during his stint.

In Qualifying 2, Sam delivered a lap that initially secured a front-row start – until a late track limits penalty pushed them back to 5th.  Sam had a great start, gaining two positions by the second corner and maintaining that pace before handing over to Josh. A 12-second delay in the pit stop dropped them to 4th, narrowly missing out on a podium.

A weekend of encouraging highs and some learning lows. Now, it’s full focus on Round 2 at Monza, Italy, at the end of May.
