Round 2 of the McLaren Trophy Europe Championship took place at Monza, Italy, over the weekend of May 31st to June 1st 2025.
After an unfortunate session ahead of race 1, Sam qualified 4th. After a data debrief and a setup alteration, the #43 car delivered an impressive performance in a tightly contested race, culminating in a hard-fought victory. The result also meant Sam became the youngest-ever winner in McLaren Trophy Europe history.
Race 2 presented a different set of challenges. With a 7-second success penalty from the previous win, and an incident at Turn 1 dropping Josh back to P10 on Lap 1, the team faced an uphill battle. Both drivers pushed throughout the race, with Sam ultimately bringing the car home in P4 – adding more valuable championship points to the tally.
The team now looks ahead to Round 3 at Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, at the end of June.
